South West Hungary!

The villa has a very central location. Lake Balaton is about 80 km away and the Croatian border is about 90 km. Within 50 km you can reach the Danube, the puszta and nature reserves. At a distance of 40 km you will find the larger cities like Kaposvár and Pécs. Here you find almost everything that you find in most European shops at home.

As natural surroundings you will find lakes, forests, hilly landscape nearby, in short, natural beauty and plenty of opportunities for recreation.

Shops

Dombóvár
The nearest city to the villa is Dombóvár. Here you will find the following supermarkets: Tesco, Lidl, Spar, CBA / COOP and Penny Market.

The center of Dombóvár has also a lot of little shop available. Although there is no abundance of shops, you might find what you need there. Clothing and shoe stores, household items, paper work etc. There is also a local market where you can enjoy your shopping. There are also several (smaller) stores where you can find almost all building materials you need. Besides several restaurants and pizzerias Dombóvár has its own nightclub. In the town itself, you will find several petrol stations. Just outside the town is a beautiful thermal spa & resort located with various indoor and outdoor pools, where you can swim and relax all year round.

Kaposvár
This is a larger city and here you will find the larger retail chains like Tesco, Lidl and Match where you can buy your groceries. An OBI is the leading DIY and there is also a separate Plaza with several smaller stores and cinemas. In the beautiful old center of Kaposvár you will find many small shops where you can shop for fun, while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces.

Pécs
In this city you will find everything (or maybe even more) than you have in the Netherlands and Belgium. Here you will also find the major retail chains like Tesco (multiple branches), Lidl, Match and even Metro (part of Makro). Metro is a wholesale shop for business owners and you need a special card to do your shopping here. Besides these shops, Pécs has a beautiful historic center where a lot of shops are located. In 2004 a new shopping mall was opened named Arkád. In this modern shopping mall you will find 100's of store with a lot of international brands. The city also has one of the many plazas you find in Hungary. Finally, each Sunday there is a huge local flea market where you can find everything, new and used. This market is definitely worth a visit!
